🇬🇭 Why Africa? Why Ghana?

A year after Vitalik visited three countries in Africa namely, Zambia, Kenya and Ghana, it has opened up the crypto space for more developer-focused initiatives, such as the Laver 2 visits, Ayathon and EthSafari.

Ayathon live with Vitalik 2023

Layer 2 visits

Six local developer-focused communities received over 160k Optimism in the latest RetroPGF round. And in recent Starknet developer airdrop,Web3bridge alumni in Africa got over 600k $STRK for contributing to Cairo, Starknet Book, codes, building their grant project, and some parts of working with the protocol team.

Now is the best time to bring the IRL events to enable these talents, who struggle to attend events such as Devconnect and Devcon due to visa denial, to engage with global protocol leaders here in Ghana which has a visa-free policy for all Africans.

With the high grass-root adoption of blockchain, it is natural that people here are quite familiar with this technology and just need this activation to ignite the growth of this new technology.

All events happening in muAccra, from workshops to hackathons and more, are open and free to anyone interested in learning from each other and brainstorming new solutions for existing problems.

👀 What will happen during the 2 weeks?

We are gathering talents from Africa and globally to:

  • Get to know each other! Top devs, researchers, projects, ecosystems and communities.

  • Loads of workshops, presentations, and bootcamps from developers and speakers both locally and globally.

  • Team up with talents and hands-on hacking on actual topics!

  • Receive technical and non-technical support on ideas you’re building.

  • A hackathon and demo-day, facing global audiences.

Weekly bootcamps during muChiangmai!

Other than things above, you can also:

  • Earn grants and bounties from quality projects.

  • Build deep connections and make lifelong friends.

  • Explore Ghana with friends.

Lastly, during these 2 weeks, we are taking this opportunity to announce our long-term program:
MUACCRA GRANT POOL.

This program is dedicated to support developers across Africa to build their own blockchain developer experiences locally, to support the overall growth of African blockchain ecosystem.
