It's been more than two months, and we cannot begin this otherwise than with a huge thank you to everyone who actively joined and supported us throughout the muChiangMai journey.

We hosted over 300 attendees, 80 residents, participants from over 30 nationalities, 150 events (approximately 100 technical), and countless memories and stories during the 6 weeks from September 15 to October 31 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

the mu was created with a clear intention: to solve real-world problems using blockchain and cryptography.

In 2 months, we established a community full of love and support.

🧑‍🏫  Mentorship

We selected mentors based on their:

1. Experience: all mentors range from intermediate to senior levels within the ecosystem.

2. Field of focus: ZK, on-chain gaming, Ethereum focused, public goods, DeFi, scalability, safety, etc.

3. Pedagogy and ability to inspire.

”159 events? How?” you may ask. We did it by granting full ownership to our attendees to create events

🧩 Muvathons

Official Definition:

mu·va·thon /’ (mu;va;thon’) noun ‘/ 1. weekly check-up for every individual who’s willing to share their work of the week. 2. could be open source contribution, new project idea, new coding language, or just an update. 3. an opportunity for other community members to help or join.

💕 Ava’s House

One of the many achievements we are extremely proud of is supporting the Ava’s House.

Ava’s House is a local child shelter, providing educational opportunities for the less fortunate kids.

During our event we reached out to Ava’s House, supporting them based on their needs:

• Built the website.

• Rebuild the water tanks.

• Fixed the water pipes and water system for the fields.

• Provide the kids basic computer classes.

• Connected Ava’s House to local university student clubs for long-term local support.

• Raised donations.

• Brought awareness to the project.

• Built fences to keep wild animals out from the shelter.

• Provide the kids English classes. (Long term project, provided by our local community member.)

• Plenty of gifts and snacks 🤣 (we love snacks too)

After the success and beautiful event at Chiang Mai, we are most excited to share we found a great location for our next 6 weeks pop-up city, dev focused: the mu is taking over Buenos Aires in March 2024! 🇦🇷

We chose LATAM so we could:

• Broaden the audience of our community: expand to web3 newcomers;

• Connect with local communities, high-level projects, skilled developers;

• South America is a perfect garden for impactful blockchain applications and other seeds;

• Be the first event of its kind in LATAM!
